Course Overview:
The ATHE level 3 Diploma in Business is designed to incorporate the essential knowledge and skills of communication, understanding business structure and objectives needed by a business manager. The course establishes the foundation for career development and of further professional courses.
Course Objectives:
The primary purpose of this RQF qualification is to support your progression to higher education, specifically to a BA degree course relating to business.
Who is the course for?
This qualification will suit you if you are planning to take a business degree but do not yet have sufficient, relevant attainment at Level 3 to meet the entry requirements for a higher education course.
Course Structure:
The qualification carries 60 credits values from following 4 units.
• How businesses operate
• Marketing principles and techniques
• Academic and research skills for business
• Communication skills for business
Course Requirement
• There are no formal requirements for specific prior qualifications or levels of attainment. However a good general standard of education, such as GCSEs (A-C) including English, maths is expected
• successful in SLA online initial assessment
• successful in interview with course leader
Learning and Assessment Methods:
Students will be involved in lectures, group activities, quizzes and discussions, all of which will enhance their learning experience. For the final four weeks of the course, students will receive support with completing and submitting their assignments. Assignments can take the form of evidence of learning portfolios, reports, presentations, and short question papers.
Students are expected to spend time carrying out independent learning using resources provided by the lecturer and carrying out research. All resources are accessible via SLA virtual learning portal.
Progression:
The qualification is primarily intended to support your progression to
• Higher Education BA degree course in business
• Level 4 business qualification such as the ATHE Level 4 Extended Diploma in Business
• a business or management HND
